The Pasadena Athletic Association (PAA) is a cycling club of approximately 300 members based in the San Gabriel/San Fernando Valley area centered around Pasadena. Teams have raced under the PAA banner since the 1960’s. Though PAA has primarily been known as a masters racing team, the club has morphed into a broad organization representing all types and levels of riders. PAA has supported the SoCal League from the beginning. Several League founding committee members and current board members come from PAA and PAA members are team founders, coaches, or sponsors of several League clubs. The League has been the designated non-profit beneficiary of PAA since 2010.

We consider ourselves a high end bicycle repair shop where we can fix almost any type of bicycle the correct way. We have a variety of bicycle services such as basic tire and tube changes up to complete bicycle restorations. We have the ability to customize, remanufacture, prototype, and repair almost anything, in our in house machine and fabrication shop. We also work closely with a local CNC machine shop for production jobs when needed.

Our knowledgeable staff is highly trained and we are proud to say that last year’s SoCal Boys Varsity Leader Zach Valdez was coached and trained by Kevin Holdber, one of our employees. We have a staff with the knowledge and training to fix your bike or aid you in your purchase of your next bicycle.

Founded as a non-profit within the Stanford University Athletic Department in 1998, PCA has the mission of “transforming youth sports so sports can transform youth.”  To that end, PCA has conducted roughly 5,000 live group workshops nationwide for more than 200,000 youth sports leaders, coaches, parents and athletes.  Workshop attendees have helped create a positive, character-building youth sports environment for more than 2.2 million youth athletes.

PCA trains Double-Goal Coaches®, whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports. This coaching method takes its name from “The Double-Goal Coach,” a book by PCA Founder and Executive Director Jim Thompson.
