February 3 (Friday): MTB 101 with Lee McCormack
This clinic offers a rare opportunity to learn from renowned cycling skills guru Lee McCormack (author of Mastering Mountain Biking). You will learn the progressive steps needed to teach anyone (even yourself) both basic and advanced mountain biking skills. You will also learn about experiential teaching techniques, how to accommodate different learning styles, and how to create a positive learning environment for young riders. Much of this clinic will be held outdoors, so please bring your bike and appropriate riding and safety gear (helmet, glasses, and gloves) for changing weather.
This is a required class to obtain a NICA Head Coach license. It will also provide 3 continuing education units for currently licenses NICA coaches.
Participants receive a copy of the book Teaching Mountain Bike Skills: The Skills Training Manual for NICA Coaches by Lee McCormack.
