SoCal League Volunteers

The success of the SoCal League depends on volunteers stepping forward. Please let us know if you are interested in getting involved. Whether serving on the Board of Directors, or course marshaling at a League race, the SoCal League cannot happen with out lots of help. RACES

COURSE SET UP AT RACES
Often the day before the race, the League puts a lot of time into designing and marking courses. It's a fun way to get out doors and often involves a lot of mountain biking.

REGISTRATION AT RACES
Help register racers early in the morning. Process is not very complicated but attention to detail is important. Ensure nervous racers smile at least once. Requires arriving 2.5 hours before start time. Chairs and EZ-Up tents provided!

MERCHANDISE SALES AT RACES
The League has things to sell like shirts, cowbells, jerseys and jackets. They sit in boxes unless we can get some help selling them. Chairs and EZ-Up tents provided!

COURSE MARSHALING AT RACES
The more the better! Course Marshals stand at key point on the course to ensure everyone is safe and going the right way. Radios are provided to communicate any problems or injuries. Hike or bike (helmet please!) to your position. Neutral cheering is encouraged but not enforced. Snacks and drinks are provided!

SCORING AT RACES
Get in on the action with this exciting job. Attention to detail is a must, but we do a back-up to relieve the stress. Job entails tracking recording plate numbers as they cross the finish line each lap. Chairs, snacks, drinks and EZ-Up tents provided!

PARKING AND INFORMATION AT RACES
Help greet arrivals, direct traffic, and answer questions to help races get off to a smooth smart. Orange vest and flag provided!

FEEDZONE AT RACES
Post signage at designated feedzone, manage safety of area, and provide neutral feed for athletes.

PHOTOGRAPHY AT RACES
We are looking for (nearly) professional quality photos to post on the League website after events. The kids pour over these after events. This year prints will be available for purchase which helps support the League. Special rewards for dedicated photographers.

AWARDS CEREMONY
Help acquire medals and trophies, and conduct the awards ceremony after each race. Connections with willing local artisans is a big plus.

CAMPS

SKILLS CLINIC ASSISTANT
Help instruct and spot the riders as they learn new skills during the skills clinics at camp. Experience instructing, and/or attendance at the League's "Learn the Skills to Teach the Skills" clinic is great, but all that's really needed is energy and a desire to encourage and support the riders as they build new skills or hone the ones they already have.

RIDE LEADER
We always need people to help lead rides during camp. This will mean taking a small group of riders out with another adult leader and supporting and coaching them on the trail. Radios provided.

KITCHEN HELP AT CAMPS
Assist Chef Saturday Lunch and Dinner and/or Sunday Breakfast and Lunch

REGISTRATION AT CAMPS
Just a couple hours of work on early Saturday morning only. Attention to detail and a smile is all that is needed!

MECHANIC AT CAMPS
Help us out with bike checks on Saturday morning, several hours of work.

BIKE FIT AT CAMPS
Experienced bike fitters, or those looking to learn as assistants. Several hours Saturday morning only.
